This is my story

My business is more than candles and fashion—it’s a story of resilience, hope and refusing to give up.

I woke up one day with a brain disorder. There was no rhyme or reason for it. One day my life was normal and the next, everything had changed forever.

Every day brings different challenges. I live with mental health struggles, tics, speech difficulties, walking and balance issues with constant uncertainty. I’ve been told that no two days are ever the same and that, without warning, I could one day need a wheelchair. Living with that uncertainty has been one of the hardest parts of my journey.

One of the most frightening moments came when I suddenly lost my vision one night. Everything happened so quickly. I was told the doctors believed it could be Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and in that moment my whole world fell apart.

My mind immediately went to the worst possible place. I remember thinking I was going to die and wondering how I was supposed to tell my family. How do you even begin that conversation when you haven’t even had time to process it yourself? I was terrified. It felt like my life had been turned upside down overnight and I was left trying to make sense of something that no one could explain.

There were times when finding the strength to keep going felt impossible. Learning to stay positive wasn’t easy, but it became something I had to work on every single day.

Crafting became my escape and my therapy. I first discovered a love for jewellery making and although it couldn’t change my condition, it gave me confidence and helped me feel more in control of my trembling and coordination—or at least it felt that way.

As time went on, I found a new passion: candle making. I fell in love with the colours, the sparkle and the freedom to create bold, colourful, funky designs that made people smile. What started as a creative outlet soon grew into a business and as demand increased, I was incredibly proud to trademark my brand.

Then, in early 2026, I decided to follow another dream and venture into fashion. Fashion had always fascinated me and to my amazement, it took off almost immediately. Seeing people love what I created gave me confidence that I was on the right path.

Today, my business is about so much more than the products I create. Every candle, every fashion piece and every colourful creation represents strength, hope and a refusal to let my condition define me.

I also want to raise awareness of brain disorders and invisible disabilities. People often can’t see the battles someone is fighting behind a smile. Living with uncertainty, physical challenges and mental health struggles can be incredibly isolating, but I want others to know they are not alone. If sharing my story helps even one person feel understood, gives someone hope or encourages them to keep going, then every part of my journey has been worth sharing.

My message is simple: never give up on your dreams. Life can change in an instant and it may take you down a path you never expected. There will be days when you feel like giving up, but don’t let your circumstances define who you are or what you can achieve.

I never imagined that one day I would wake up with a brain disorder but I also never imagined that I would build a business doing something I love. If I can find light after some of my darkest days, then I truly believe others can too.

Keep believing. Keep creating. Keep dreaming. And never let anything stand in the way of the life you want to build.

What is FND?

FND is functional neurological disorder.

Imagine your brain is a computer. The hardware of your computer is fine and functions fine but when it comes to the software then it doens't function properly.

This is exactly what FND is, the software (nervous system) of the brain malfunctions, it sends and receives the wrong signals 24 hours a day. This means living with FND can be very challenging.

Medical professionals do not yet know the reason behind this but the more awareness people raise the more we will learn together. Everyone knows what MS, Parkinsons, Fibro & Arthritis is but when it comes to FND, no one really knows about it. Getting care can also be a challenge as those medical professionals are not trained on it and in most cases those who are misunderstand it completely. This proves very frustrating for us living with FND and can make our lives more difficult.

My aim is to help raise more awareness of this condition to help us all in the long run with FND.

I now make hoodies, t-shirts and bags to help raise awareness. The more I can get out there the better for the world of FND.
